Mah Jong is a Chinese game played with 144 tiles. Mah Jong tiles are small rectangular blocks of wood, ivory, or plastics. Each Mah jong tiles has a face showing various characters and designs. Mah Jong can be grouped as 108 suit tiles (bamboo, circles, and characters), 28 honor titles (wids and dragons), and 8 flower tiles. In Chinese Mah Jong means “sparrow”.
Mah Jong used to be considered a game just for grandmothers is a thing of the past. Wall Street Journal says Mah Jong is finding a new and wider following among the young and techno-savys in the U.S.
